Dr. Sheila Rai
General Secretary, Rajasthan Political Science Association
Dr. Sheila Rai is currently serving as the Principal at St Xavier’s College Jaipur. Dr. Rai has been associated with the Department of Political Science at the University of Rajasthan and has over thirty years of rich academic, research and administrative experience. Dr. Rai’s distinguished professional and scholarly journey involves many milestones such as serving as :

Dr. Rai has always believed in maintaining global standards of research which resulted in various achievements, starting with the JRF of University Grants Commission for Ph.D. Research. Since then, Dr. Rai has worked on a Major Research Project on the topic, "Caste, Party and Ticket Distribution in Rajasthan, 1952 – 2004", which was sanctioned by the Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi and is presently working on a major Project “Evolution of Article 370 : Analysis” sanctioned by ICSSR. A Gandhian to the core, Ma’am received the Teacher Research Grant Project for research on the topic, “Gandhian Paradigm: Quintessence of Real Development”, sanctioned by ASRC, Hyderabad.
Dr. Rai is the Editor, ’Rajyashti’ The Journal of Social Sciences’ of Rajasthan Political Science Association. She has various research publications to her credit, with books such as Samajik, Arthik va Rajnitik Nyay Sanvidhanik Nihitharth Aur Vyavharik Aayam, Pratyashi Chayan, Daliya Rajneeti evam Jaati, Indian Political System and Gandhian View of State, Individual and Society, along with more than forty research papers which have been published in international and national journals of repute.
Dr. Rai has presented her research extensively on international forums like The World Congress, International Political Science Association with conferences in Spain, China, Santiago De Chile and South Korea; NAPSIPAG International Conference held at various places like Nepal, Australia, Malaysia, China, South Africa and India. Other platforms of repute have been the Round Table on Global Blues and Sustainable Development held at the University of South Florida, Globalization Research Centre, Tampa, Florida, USA, Punjab University, Osmania University, Himachal State University and the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, amongst others. Ma’am has supervised over thirty Ph.D. theses and thirty-five M.Phil. dissertations and has been visiting various Colleges, Unversities etc. as Resource person. .
Dr. Rai remains committed to the high ideals of Gandhi which she always asserts are the true mark of both the leader and the seeker.
